MTR Express (Sweden) AB Terms and Conditions of Purchase

MTR Express (Sweden) AB Terms and Conditions of Purchase govern agreements entered
into with MTR Express (Sweden) AB for the purchase of journeys and additional services
offered therewith. The actual journey with MTR Express (Sweden) AB is governed by MTR
Express (Sweden) AB´s General Terms and Conditions for Carriage by Rail. If you purchase
a journey with another operator, that operator’s terms and conditions of carriage will apply.

Purchase can be made on our website www.mtrexpress.se or via our app. "MTR Express".
When you purchase a journey and/or additional service from MTR Express (Sweden) AB, as
customer you are responsible for ensuring that the order is correct. Read these Terms and
Conditions of Purchase and check the information contained in the order. Also read MTR
Express (Sweden) AB´s General Terms and Conditions for Carriage by Rail.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR TICKET
Ticket types
We are selling tickets that are rebookable / possible to cancel just as well as tickets that are
not rebookable / possible to cancel. We offer the opportunity to seat reservation which must
occur before the trip when booking the ticket. We sell both aperiodic and periodic tickets /
cards.
The passenger must have a valid ticket for travel. A passenger who begins traveling without
a valid ticket must within 15 minutes after departure buy a ticket on the train, otherwise the
passenger may be deemed to lack a valid ticket.
Purchase can be made on our website www.mtrexpress.se or via our app. "MTR Express". ".
In addition, the ticket can be purchased by the train crew.
Luggage, prams, wheelchairs and pets
The MTR Express (Sweden) AB's General conditions for the transport of passengers by rail
are the conditions for the entry of luggage and pets. Briefly, the following applies:
- The passenger may during their trip free of charge as hand luggage bring items that can
easily be carried by the traveler, which is of reasonable size and in each mode of transport
can be placed in the appropriate space or space specifically designated.
A guideline for what is meant is 1 luggage with dimensions of approximately 80 x 50 x 35 cm,
that weighs no more than about 20 kg. In addition to this a small bag (purse, laptop bag,
etc.).
- Stroller, wheelchair, walker and similar aids may be included, subject to availability.
Reservation of place must occur before the trip when booking the ticket.
If the wheelchair is to be used as aid during the trip you have to ascertain that the wheelchair
because of the length, width and weight can be carried and used in train.
- When pets are allowed reservation of place must occur before the trip.
- Guide dogs and service dogs for personal assistance for travelers with disabilities are
always included free of charge. Reservation of place does not have to be made prior to the
trip. Guide dogs and service dogs may be placed on the floor next to the traveler.
Booking fee
All purchases include a booking fee.
Personal tickets
A personal ticket is valid only in respect of the person whose name appears on the ticket.
The ticket is valid only together with a valid ID document** presented on the train. Without a
valid ID document, the passenger may be deemed to lack a valid ticket.
A personal ticket is not transferable and may not be sold to any third party.
Holders of discount cards and monthly passes or annual passes
In the event the holder repeatedly fails to comply with the provisions set forth in MTR
Express (Sweden) AB´s Terms and Conditions for Carriage by Rail, and fails to effect
rectification upon demand by MTR Express (Sweden) AB, MTR Express (Sweden) AB
reserves the right to cancel the executed agreement and refund the value of the outstanding
validity period of the ticket/pass.
Credit information
When tickets are ordered against an invoice (when possible), MTR Express (Sweden) AB or
the partners we contract for the transaction will obtain credit information about the party
stated as responsible for payment in respect of the order.
REBOOKING, CANCELLATION AND REFUND RULES
Right of withdrawal When buying tickets on our website www.mtrexpress.se or via our app. "MTR Express", you
can always cancel the purchase within 24 hours from the time of purchase without paying the
reservation fee. Is it less than 24 hours to the trip departure, you can refund up to 12 hours
before departure. Information on how to proceed to cancel the purchase can be found on the
MTR EXPRESS (SWEDEN) AB's website www.mtrexpress.se.
Non-rebookable/ possible to cancel journeys
Upon purchase of a non-rebookable/ possible to cancel journey, the ticket can be neither
rebooked nor refunded.
Rebookable/possible to cancel journeys
If you have purchased a rebookable/possible to cancel journey, in order to be rebooked the
journey must be cancelled prior to the departure time unless other conditions are specified in
the ticket.
Upon rebooking, you will receive a rebooking credit equal to the ticket price less the booking
fee. You can use this rebooking credit to book a new journey. Upon re-routing to a more
expensive ticket, you have to pay the difference to the conditions that apply to your ticket.
Upon cancellation of the trip, you get a refund of the value of the original trip excluding
booking fee. A refund can be made within one year from the ticket dates.
Refund in the event of illness or death
In the event of illness or death, the entire value of the ticket (excluding booking fee) may be
refunded upon presentation of an approved certificate.
Approved certificates:
• Physician’s certificate: in the event of the acute illness of the customer, a physician’s
certificate must be completed by a physician stating the name and telephone number of the
physician and must be stamped by the physician. Where no stamp is provided, a copy of the
physician's medical license must be appended. The certificate must set forth the date and
diagnosis evidencing that the customer, as a consequence of an acute illness, was not able
to travel on the day on which the ticket was valid.
• Official certificate of death or a death certificate from a priest or funeral home. In addition to
cases involving the death of the traveler himself/herself, the death of a close relative also
provides an entitlement to a refund. Refunds may also cover tickets of any persons
accompanying the customer on the trip provided such tickets were purchased as part of the
same order.

Discounted ticket (children, youths, students and senior citizens)
The following categories of passenger are traveling on discounted tickets. The discounts are
given on booking.
Children (16-25 years, until the day they turn 26)
Children should due to safety and well-being perspectives have their own seat. Ticket must
therefore be purchased for all children regardless of age. MTR Express (Sweden) AB does
not assume specific responsibility for children; parent or guardian is always responsible.
Unaccompanied children may need proof of age **).
Young people (0-15 years, until the day they turn 16)
You must be able to prove your age**.
Students
As a student, you must be able to show a student ID card recognized by MTR Express
(Sweden) AB (Mecenat, ISIC or Student Card) when buying the ticket as well as when so
requested on board the train.
The following rules apply to Norwegian and Danish students:
1) Student certificate must have been issued by the university or college.
2) Valid study evidence means that studies must be full-time and include a minimum of 3
months. The studies may not be paid for by employers, adult education is not accepted.
3) Receipt of tuition fee must be presented.
Fall semester Certificate is valid until January 10.
Spring Semester Certificate is valid until 10 September.
Senior citizens ‛Senior citizens’ means a passenger who has reached the age 65 or is on
early retirement pension or disability pension. You must be able to prove your age by means
of a valid ID document** when so requested on board the train. If you are on early retirement
pension or disability pension, you must be able to present proof thereof issued by the
Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
**Valid ID documents consist of all passports, Swedish ID documents, LMA (asylum
applicant) cards issued by the Swedish Migration Board, as well as national ID cards within
the EU. Other foreign ID documents are not recognized. Accompanying children need not
show any ID document, except where the child's age must be substantiated.
