The
Master Switch
The B-Safe series (ACX3493HD &
ACX3492HD) are designed to fulfil the duties
of a battery master switch, connecting and
disconnecting a vehicles batteries from
it’s electrical systems. The ACX3492HD is
suited to applications that require switching
of both positive and negative, where the
ACX3493HD is positive isolation only.
Safe working voltages for both units are from
9 to 32 Volt, and the unit will automatically
adapt to the systems voltage (12 or 24V).
Each unit is rated at 300 amps continuous
per contact, making 600 amps and a peak
rating of 1500 amps for 5 seconds.
The B-Safe units not only isolate batteries
through the mechanical handle, but can
control connection and disconnection
through external means including, rollover
protection inputs, emergency stop push
button signals, low voltage monitoring and
the local activation button also providing
fault diagnosis through flashing LED codes.
Other internal and external signals include
positive and negative supply for vehicles
ECM and field isolation control.
The B-Safe units are a lighter, more compact
unit compared to other product on the
market, and will provide a base for your
vehicles future isolation requirements.

True field isolation (American style) is recommended. If European style
field isolation is used through D+ on the alternator. Only C1:5 connection
is required. Ensure the alternator ceases charging during testing.

Field Isolation
This is a Negative Switching Circuit. C2:1 is Neg Supply Output for Iros
or other Rollover Device (1A Continious Rating)
When main bridges are closed. C1:5 is (internally) connected to C1;6.
When main bridges are open, C1:5 is (internally) connected to battery
negative, which on Pos/Pos versions comes internally from C2:6 and
which on bipolar versions comes internally from “Bat” stud.

LVM function (Low Voltage Monitoring)
This function automatically opens the main contact in the case of low battery power.
This function must be activated during the installation if requested.
To activate:
• Handle in ready
• Main contact open
• Turn the handle from Ready to Off and within one second press and hold the local On button for 10 seconds
• There will be blinking from the local On button to confirm LVM is activated.
Turn handle from Off to Ready.
Voltage thresholds are;
• In the case of 24 volt systems, the B-Safe will detect low battery with a voltage below 21 volt.
• In the case of 12 volt systems, the B-Safe will detect low battery with a voltage below 9 volt.
