HC706 CONTACT OUTPUT UNIT INFRARED SENSOR INDICATORS When the battery becomes low, the green light will turn off but will blink on every two and a half seconds. When the battery becomes exhausted, the unit will fail to operate. TEST BUTTON To use this button to manually turn an output on or off, proceed as follows:- The HC706 will have been set up to suit the programming of your main controller (Compact, Companion or Freeway). To control the device(s) connected to the HC706, simply select the appropriate position from your controller menu. The outputs of the HC706 may be set up to operate in many different ways. The engineer will have explained how your system works at the time of installation. • Hold the button in. After a short delay, any outputs which are on will be turned off. • After a second or so, Channel A will turn on. • Next, Channel A will turn off and Channel B will turn on. • Finally after a further delay, both channels will turn on. There are 3 indicator lights on the front panel. The 2 orange Channel lights show when the outputs are activated. The green Status light indicates when mains power is present and the state of the internal battery. When the mains power is on, the green light should be on all the time. When the mains power is removed and the unit is operating from its internal battery, the green light will blink off every two and a half seconds. If the green Status light is on continuously, go to step 2. 1. Check that the mains plug has not been removed from the wall socket and that power is present at the socket. If the green Status light is still not on, contact Possum Controls Ltd. 2. Press and hold in the TEST BUTTON, as already described. If the orange Channel lights do NOT operate correctly, contact Possum Controls Ltd. 3. Check that there is nothing between your controller and the sensor on the HC706 unit, which could stop the infrared signals from being picked up by the unit. 4. If your installation includes a remote infrared sensor, ensure that the remote sensor is still mounted where the engineer installed it and has not fallen down or turned away. 5. Check that the path between your controller and the remote sensor is clear. There is a button located in the recess on the underside of the unit which may be used to manually operate the outputs and to test the unit. MANUAL BUTTON INDICATOR LIGHTS IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM If the button is still held, both outputs will be turned off after 1 second and the sequence will then repeat at 1 second intervals while the button is held in. To set the unit to a particular output state, just release the button when the orange Channel indicator lights show the required states. BUZZER The HC706 unit contains a buzzer which may have been set up to sound when one or more outputs are operated. This buzzer may also be set up to warn of a mains failure. NOTE: If a remote sensor is installed, there will be a cable fitted in the third hole from the right, on the underside. If you are still unable to solve the problem, please contact Possum Controls Ltd. at the address overleaf for assistance.
