RESET TIMER WITH CONFIGURABLE DELAY
Enhanced Reset Timers for Mobile Devices
Due to the increasing consumer demand for feature-rich smart phones and the myriad of user applications, more
handsets are experiencing software malfunctions and/or phone lock-up due to the inability to test all software on
every handset platform. This phenomenon is commonly referred to as the “white screen of death.” Fairchild offers
a family of reset timers which allows the user to reset the handset with the push-of-a-button, eliminating the need to
physically remove the battery or return the phone to its manufacturer.
Fairchild’s reset timers are currently available in four sizes: 2.0mm x 2.0mm MLP, 1.4mm x 1.8mm ultrathin MLP,
1.0mm x 1.45mm MicroPak™ and 1.0mm x 1.0mm MicroPak2™ packages.

Reset Timer Features
Fairchild’s reset timers are configurable in several programmable delay times – 3, 3.75,
4.5, 6, 7.5, 10, and 11.25 seconds. The longer delay times eliminate an inadvertent reset,
due to an accidental key press by the user. Fairchild reset timers offer single- or dual-button
reset capability. The devices feature two outputs; a push-pull output with 0.5mA drive and
an open-drain output with 0.5mA pull-down drive. The reset timers draw minimal ICC current
when inactive and function over a wide power supply range of 1.65V to 5.0V.
