SPRING 2014 ADULT PROGRAMS
Continuing Beginner’s Pottery Wheel Class
Mondays, Apr 7-May 26 | 7-9pm | $210
This class is geared toward the beginner and potters who want a refresher on basic skills. Students will focus on the basis
including wedging, centering, lifting, trimming and glaze firing. Remember how fun the wheel can be.
The Art of Sushi
Mondays, Apr 7-April 28 | 6:30-8:30pm | $120
For all you sushi fans combine your love of sushi with your creativity to make your very own set of dishes out of clay. Our resident artist Adrian Leffingwell
will teach you how to hand build a beautiful and functional set of sushi ware. You’ll learn the basics of making sushi and the final class ends with a feast
served on your very own handmade dishes. No prior experience necessary. Sign up with a friend or purchase as a gift. Includes all supplies and sushi.
Figure Drawing
Mondays, Apr 7-May 12 | 6:30-8:30pm | $170
An artist with a sketch pad and pencil staring at a live model…we’ve all seen the image. This class puts you front and center in that picture, learning light
and shadow and all the basic drawing techniques. We can’t guarantee you’ll become an “old master,” but we will guarantee that Mondays will be the
highlight of your week.
Watercolors with Beth Woessner
Tuesdays, Apr 8-May 13 | 10am-Noon | $140
Get acquainted with watercolor techniques, or practice skills that are already familiar...this is time set aside for escaping into the wonder and magic of
watercolors! Bring your own “in the works” pieces or follow our class demo. Materials are not included in the class fee; contact us for supply list.
Intermediate Wheel Class
Tuesdays, Apr 8-May 27 | 6:30-8:30pm | $210
Now that you’ve taken a class in wheel basics, you’re ready for more complex skills. This class focuses on developing individual style and special projects.
Photoshop Fundamentals
Wednesdays, Apr 9-May 14 | 7-8:30pm | $105
A great image can sell any product. Photoshop offers the tools and photo techniques guaranteed to get your artwork and other items for sale noticed on
the web. In this class students will learn touch up, composition, layering and other photography tips to help achieve a professional look. You will need to
bring your own laptop with photoshop installed.
Absolute Beginner’s Pottery Wheel Class
Thursdays, Apr 10- May 29 | 6:30-8:30pm | $210
If you are new to the wheel this class will give you a great introduction. You’ll learn everything you need to know to throw a pot on the wheel, including
wedging, centering, lifting, trimming and glaze firing. Learning to throw pots is great fun and a terrific way to end a stressful day.
Painting with Acrylics
Thursdays, Apr 17-May 22 | 7-9 pm | $140
This is a great class for the beginner or novice painter who would like to learn and advance skills in acrylic painting. We will paint several pieces using a
variety of brushes, tricks, styles and color schemes. If you have a desire to explore your inner artist through paint, then bring on the imagination and we
will create in a relaxed studio setting.

Gardening with Clay
Mondays, May 5-May 26 | 6:30-8:30pm | $105
Spring into your garden with an armful of beautiful projects that you’ve made with us! We’ll be teaching you how to create birdhouses, herb markers and
luminaries using hand building slab techniques with clay. Fee covers materials and firing fees.
Art Tapas Workshops
Cost: $45 per workshop
Spanish restaurants offer Tapas, or small tastes of food for their patrons to sample and enjoy. CCC brings Tapas to the studios with a series of introductory
workshops that offer a sampling of our most popular art forms. If you'd like to know more about the pottery wheel or watercolor, but can’t commit to weeks
of classes, Art Tapas is for you!
A Serving of Acrylics | Thursday, Apr 10 | 6:30-8:30pm | This tapas introduces you to the basics of acrylics. Paint an interesting piece on canvas that
is guaranteed to convince you to pursue this versatile medium further.
Bejeweled | Wednesday, May 7 | 6:30-8:30pm | How do artists take a few stones, some wire and create beautiful jewelry? This tapas helps you learn
to use your imagination along with the basics of jewelry making to bedazzle your friends with sparkling creations.
A Little Bit of the Potter’s Wheel | Thursday, June 12 | 6:30-8:30pm | Thought Demi and Patrick made it look fun? You’ll have more than a ghost of
a chance to learn the basics of making a pot on the wheel in this mini-pottery workshop including throwing, centering and wedging and a bit of handbuilding.

Market Your Art with Success with Megan Chapman | Cost: $25 per workshop
Learn proven strategies to build your confidence, get people to notice your work and make that sale! Accomplished mixed media artist Megan Chapman has
shown her work extensively throughout the USA and the UK. Her work has appeared in various publications and is held in numerous private collections. Join
Megan as she leads you through a simple and action oriented guide to the business aspects of a successful art career. Come to one or all workshops.
Workshop 1 | Saturday, Apr 12 | 2-4 pm | In the first two hour segment Megan will touch on many aspects of the business side of art, how to speak about
yourself as an artist, promote your work to galleries and arts organizations, build relationships with patrons by using social media and how to speak about your work
effectively in person.
Workshop 2 | Wednesday, Apr 16 | 6-8 pm | This week you’ll learn how to speak about yourself and your work all while quieting the voices of the
naysayers and our own self-limiting beliefs. Attention will also be on writing and fine tuning a winning artist statement and biography.
Workshop 3 | Wednesday, Apr 23 | 6-8 pm | In week three we will learn effective portfolio presentation, the basics of documenting your work and
pricing your art. We’ll learn researching potential venues for your work and how to approach galleries, art centers and nontraditional spaces.
Workshop 4 | Wednesday, Apr 30 | 6-8 pm | The fourth week will focus on the importance of social media and how to really engage people with
your work, whether online or in person. We will also discuss how to confidently create your own opportunities locally, nationally and internationally and identify
available resources that will help your art career flourish.
