Aggreko Equipment Ancillary Testing Equipment All AC loadbanks can be used in conjunction with the complete fleet of Aggreko step-down transformers which range from 1250 to 6300 kVA. Typically these can operate at any voltage between 0.6 to 25 kV. Loadbanks Resistive-Only Loadbanks Aggreko’s resistive-only fleet consists of 100 and 1266 kW single units, which can also be paralleled together to provide large load capacities. Each loadbank is designed to operate at unity (1.0pf) power factor, 400 to 440 V at 50 and 60 Hz. The Intelligent Hand-held Terminal (IHT) provides you with full instrumentation (volts, amps, hertz, kilowatts and power factor) and the ability to control the loadbank in 1 kW incremental load steps. All instrumentation measurements are made using three highly accurate voltage and current transformers located within the loadbank and the print-out facility allows data to be recorded. These loadbanks are built to a very high industrial standard and are skid-mounted with forklift pockets for ease of handling. Each loadbank is designed to operate at variable power factor and from 400 to 480 kV at 50 and 60 Hz. These loadbanks are housed in standard ISO 10 and 20 foot containers. The uniformed control system provides consistency and familiarity throughout Aggreko’s AC loadbanks and combined with the additional feature of multi-language display, offers the customer a complete user-friendly method of operation. The print-out facility allows data to be recorded. Direct Current (DC) Loadbanks Aggreko’s DC loadbank fleet consists of various voltage and current-rated units. Typically these can operate between 24 – 240 volts and up to 600 amperes as single units. Certain units can be connected together with up to two other identical loadbanks to increase the total loading capacity. The ammeter on the master loadbank will display the total current of all three loadbanks. These loadbanks are controllable in 1 ampere load steps via a ‘dial type’ controller. Their compact design enables the units to be sited near to the point of test, negating the need for long, hazardous cable runs. Transformers To complement our fleet of generators and loadbanks, Aggreko has a large fleet of transformers for either stepping voltage up or down, depending on the application. Aggreko transformers in most cases are containerised and are supplied complete with over current and short circuit protection on the HV breaker. Sigma II Instrumentation System MV/HV Monitor The Sigma Instrumentation System (SIS) is designed for monitoring three-phase electrical supplies, primarily during load proving trials. Based on the Sigma Control, SIS provides a means of directly measuring the actual MV/ HV electrical parameters, including power, voltage, current and frequency. ‘Daisy-chaining’ the SIS into the loadbank group using the standard Sigma plug socket connections automatically reverts the instrumentation displayed on the Sigma PC system from the internal loadbank LV readings to the external inputs into the SIS. The normal loadtest functions within the Sigma PC software package are maintained to ensure comprehensive testing. Internally, the unit contains a Sigma Control System module plus voltage transformers, with switched input voltage selection. Individual sockets are provided for voltage and current inputs. Two current inputs are provided - 1 x 1A and 1 x 5A for connection to external CT’s. Multi-megawatt loadtest at shipyard, UK High and Low Voltage Data Capture Capability The Aggreko PC system can be used as an alternative to the Intelligent Hand-held Terminal (IHT) on any Aggreko (AC) loadbank. The PC system provides enhanced load control along with transient speed instrumentation, real-time graph display and full data acquisition and reporting.
