Strength of the Institution
A. Management
The college comes under the management of Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar
having headquarters at Tiruvalla and has a long tradition of service to society and in social
areas which include education. The college management with its managerial and other
resources is a pillar of strength and is committed to provide up-to-date infrastructure and
5 facilities for the college. The management also recruit and provide teaching and non-teaching
staff of good quality. The management monitors the academic and non-academic performance
of the college.
B. Values
We give value oriented education to our students. We conduct ethics class as part of our
curriculum. Students also conduct prayer meeting on all Fridays. Value education is essentially
a matter of educating the feelings and emotions we upheld like ‘training of the heart’ and
consists in developing the right feelings and emotions. Values are thus inseperable from life of
the individual.
C. Teachers
Our teachers are a source of information, a guide, a mentor, a surrogative parent, a
motivator, all at the same time. Principal and teachers are academically well qualified and
experienced. Seven of the teachers are adorned with doctorate in education and five have
M.Phil Degree. Four teachers are doing research as part of Ph.D programme. Teachers are
concentrated for the all-round development of each student in the college.
D. Students
All the students hold a minimum entry norm of degree with a lower age limit of 20. Many
students hold masters degree in their subject. Being goal-oriented they can easily blend with the
values, culture and tradition of the institution. It is observed that students have both academic
and non-academic goals and use the college activities to achieve these.
E. College Union
The college union members are elected unanimously by the students. The union members
work in cohesion for the welfare of the college and the students.
6 F. PTA
The Parent Teacher Association is constituted every year with the active participation of
the teachers and guardians/parents of the students and lends wholehearted support for
enriching the educational environment of the institution.
G. Alumni
The Alumni Association of the college comprising of its former students and staff of the
college meets this year on 3rd Saturday of May with an aim to enhance relationship and assist
the institution in its onward journey to excellence. The Alumni also conducts the inter training
college choreography competition, and Titus Teacher Education Award once in two years. Being
a college which has entered 56th year of service in the field of education, we have a strong
Alumni.
H. Value Education
Every week one period is set apart for value education under the banner ‘Ethics Classes’.
Eminent personalities and leaders of different religions address the students .Classes on cyber
laws, substance abuse, mobile misuse, human rights, civic responsibilities, marriage laws etc.
are being arranged in the institution. Group and personnel counseling are also provided.
Orientations are organized at the beginning of the course with the motto ‘Equipping oneself to
equip others’. A discipline committee also functions to help students maintain the decorum of
the institution. Mentoring sessions help students to get opportunities for value clarification. An
anti-ragging committee also functions in the college.
