It introduces the students to issues related national and individual level using the tools and techniques discussed in the class. Business Economics studies the economic issues related to consumption, investment, savings, national income and exports and imports. It covers policies which directly affects the above stated phenomena which can be addressed at public policy formulation. Hence, it is an important module for the students of MPA to develop an analytic skills which enable them to identify individual, national and international factors affecting individuals, societies and hence public sector organizations. Objectives: The course aims to develop the following skills after completion of the module studies. Students will be able to find how factors affecting consumption. Students will be able to find how factors affecting revenues. Students will be able to find how factors affecting production. Students will be able to find how factors affecting costs. Students will be able to find how factors affecting market activities. Course Outcomes: After completing this course, students will be: Able to understand important Micro and Macro Economics concepts Able to locate a microeconomic and macroeconomic problem of public importance. Able to convert primary and secondary data into useful information to support most types of economic analysis. Utilize different statistical software like Excel for advanced techniques to convert theory to results and learn from data what is given in theories.
