California State University, Fresno Foundation PROGRAM MANAGER PATHWAYS TO ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT CAREERS (PENCOM) JOB ANNOUNCEMENT #15-753 POSITION SUMMARY: PROGRAM SUMMARY: MAJOR DUTIES: QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Full-time, benefited position with “Pathways to Engineering and Construction Management Careers (PENCOM)”, a grant funded Program Manager in the Lyles College of Engineering at California State University, Fresno Foundation. The Project Manager will work independently and collaboratively with Lyles College of Engineering faculty, staff, students, other departments and offices at Fresno State, and potential project partners in community colleges, high-schools, and school districts. The job duties will include project management, process coordination, written and oral communications. The individual in this role should be self-motivated, creative, efficient and knowledgeable about post-secondary education. The overarching goals of PENCOM are to develop and foster a new regional post-secondary engineering education stakeholder partnership comprising of academic and industry partners in order to focus on systemic issues relating to participation and student success in engineering and construction management fields, develop support programs in the Lyles College of Engineering to broaden learning and increase student success, develop resources for student advising, develop and offer STEM outreach programs and services focused on engineering and construction management. Under the direction of the Dean of the Lyles College of Engineering or designee, the Program Manager will be responsible for the following duties: • Manage the day-to-day deliverables of the program • Serve as liaison with the funding agency • Assist with creating program partnerships and maintaining relationships with K-12 schools and districts, community colleges and industry • Collaborate with faculty and staff in the Lyles College of Engineering on the various programs and services offered in the College • Assist with data collection and coordination of tasks relating to articulation of courses between community colleges and Fresno State • Assist in the recruitment, training, supervision of student ambassadors and peer mentors • Assist with budget analysis and projections; Assist with all grant related procurement processes, preparation of student ambassadors and peer mentors schedules and time sheets • Assist in the planning of activities, including coordination of meetings and special events, some of which may occasionally be held on weekends and evenings • Assist in the coordination of summer camps and other grant related programs which may be occasionally scheduled on weekends • Maintain project related schedules, calendars, and all relevant documentation • Work collaboratively with Lyles College of Engineering Associate Dean, Student Services Director and Outreach Director • Assist with project related data collection and assessment • Prepare written reports regarding grant related items, and provide presentations regarding the program deliverables and goals; Maintain project related website and other social media as needed • Assist in the development of web-based and other online resources • Assist with marketing and communications • Other duties as assigned To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
