Main Control Panel The Main Control Panel is located on the front right side as you look at the unit. This panel controls several different option on the unit. These different options are listed below. Power Button The Power button is located in the upper left corner of the Main Control panel. With the Main Power Switch on (located on the left end panel) turn the power on and off by pressing the Power button. You will hear a beep when the button is pressed. The LED on the button will light up when the power is on. If the Power button does not turn the unit on, check the Main Power Switch on the left end panel. Make sure the Sheet Lever is in the raised unlocked position before pressing the Power button. Auto-sleep The PC -600 has an Auto -sleep mode. When the PC -600 goes to sleep, the sub power is switched off and the unit enters power -saving mode. The Power LED flashes at this time. The factory default setting for the sleep mode is 30 minutes. To cancel the sleep mode, send a design from the computer or press any button on the Main Control panel. Data Clear Button The Data Clear button will delete any data being received by the PC -600. Hold down the Data Clear button until you hear a beep. The information being sent to the cutter has now been cleared. The LED flashed while the information is being deleted. Remember to set a new base point before sending another design to the cutter. Head Cleaning Button The Head Cleaning button allows you to force the PC -600 to clean the Print Head. The PC -600 automatically performs cleaning of the printing head while in use. Press this button to perform a forced cleaning only when printing is especially grimy. Hold the button until you hear a beep then release. The Print Head will then move to the left side of the unit and clean the head on the cleaning pad. Please refer to the sections in this guide for more information on the use of the Cleaning Pad and cleaning the Print Head. Base Point The Base Point button sets the starting point for cutting and printing. Once the material is loaded, use the arrow keys to move the Cutter Carriage so the blade is where you want the design to start, press the Base Point button. Hold the button down until you here a beep. The Base Point is now set and the unit is ready to accept information from the computer. Remember to set a new Base Point for each job. This unit prints form right to left and the base point is the lower right corner of the design. Sheet Cut Button The Sheet Cut button on the Main Control panel controls the Sheet Cutter Knife on the cutter. Once your design is complete, hold down the Sheet Cut button until you hear a beep. The unit will then advance the material and cut the design from the roll of material. Cut Test The Cut Test button is located on the Main Control Panel. This performs a cutting test to verify that the blade force is correct. This Cut Test can only be used after material setup has been performed. Press the Cut Test button and the cutter will cut a circle and square. Make sure that you can weed them cleanly before sending your design to the cutter. Depending on your results, you may need to adjust the Tool Force. It is best to move in adjust the Tool Force. It is best to move in small increments. The do another Test Cut. Try to cut with the least amount of pressure as possible to make the blade last longer. Each material will need different force settings. You will need to increase the force as the blade wears. If the force needs to be set to Max to cut the material, you need a new blade and/or cutting strip. Cartridge Holder Indicator The Cartridge Holder Indicator is located on the Main Control Panel. The panel lights up when a ribbon cartridge is installed. The lights will flash if the cartridge is installed incorrectly or if the ink ribbon is empty. If all the lights are flashing, it mean that the ribbon compartment contains a mix of ribbons, wax and resin. Remove the ribbons that are not needed and replace with ribbons all of the same type. Busy Indicator The Busy LED will flash while receiving data and during processing. Setup Indicator The Setup LED will light and stay lit once the setup of the material is complete. Front Cover Indicator The Front Cover LED will flash during setup and when the front cover is open. Closing the front cover causes it to remain lit continuously. The unit will not operate with the cover open. Cursor Buttons The Cursor Buttons are located at the bottom center of the Main Control Panel. These keys control the movement of the Print Head and the material. The Left and Right Buttons move the Print Head to the left and right. The Up and Down Buttons move the material in and out of the unit. Cutter Force Control Slider The Cutter Force Control Slider controls the amount of force on the blade. The amount of force will vary depending on what you are cutting. As the blade ages, increasing the force will be necessary. Always do a test cut before cutting your design. If the force needs to be set to Max to cut the material, you need a new blade or cutting strip.
