Avocent® Universal Management Gateway –
Modifying the DHCP Scope
Problem
A supplement to the user guide is needed for the process to modify the DHCP configuration for the Avocent®
Universal Management Gateway appliance.
Solution
In the following example, the PM3000 as a network target and is connected to port 12 of the Avocent® Universal
Management Gateway appliance and leased IP address: 192.168.10.107
To modify the DHCP configuration for the Avocent® Universal Management Gateway appliance:
1. Click Administration - Port Configuration - DHCP settings and note the existing Dynamic Ranges and Lease
Bindings.

2. Click Administration - Port Configuration - Network Settings to modify the Virtual Private Interface. In this
case, the System priv interface will be modified.
3. Update the IP address and broadcast for the priv interface.

5. Enable and disable the server to restart the DHCP server.
6. Restart the network device, for example, the PM3000, to renew the leased IP address: 192.168.11.107 of the
Avocent® Universal Management Gateway appliance.
