TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE SYMPTOM • Dora does not respond to the smartphone. Keep these instructions for future reference as they contain important information. NOTE: • This product operates at a higher volume in the package for demonstration purposes. When the smartphone is removed from the package, volume reduces to a more comfortable level for your child. • For best results, make sure the smartphone is no further than 3 feet away from Dora while playing. • Be sure to point the smartphone directly at Dora with nothing in between Dora and the smartphone. • If the toy begins to operate erratically, you may need to reset the electronics by switching both power switches to the OFF position, waiting about 10 seconds, and then switching them both back to ON again. • If the toy is not played with for more than one minute it will automatically shut-off to preserve battery life. To resume play, press the flower button on the front of Dora’s dress first and then press the keypad on the smartphone. BEFORE YOU BEGIN • Remove and discard the “Try Me” pull-tab located on the back of the smartphone next to the battery compartment (see battery diagram). • Switch the power switch on both the smartphone and Dora to the “ON” position for normal play function. The ON/OFF switches are also located next to the battery compartments. HOW TO PLAY SMARTPHONE: DORA: Charm Button Keypad Flower Button Map App 1. 2. 3. 4. To begin play, press the jeweled flower button on the front of Dora’s dress. Now press the number keypad on the smartphone to begin a call. Dora will respond to the smartphone and they will talk to each other. Keep pressing the keypad to move through the conversation. At any time you can press the Map App button to hear phrases from Map App. 5. At any time you can press the charm button with your charm to hear special phrases. 6. You can also press the charm button using the other charms that come with your other Dora and Friends Dolls. The charms can also be attached to the smartphone. (Dora and Friends Dolls sold separately and subject to availability). SOLUTION • Make sure both power switches are switched to the “ON" position. • Be sure to press the flower button on the front of Dora’s dress every time you want to begin play. • Re-start by switching the power switches "OFF" and then "ON" again. • You may be beyond the maximum range of the remote controller. Make sure the smartphone is no more than 3 feet away from Dora. • You may not have a clear path between the smartphone and Dora. This toy works best when there are no obstructions between the smartphone and Dora. • Try dimming the lights in the room. Bright sunlight or fluorescent lights may affect the range of the remote controller. • Battery power in the smartphone or Dora may be weak. Replace ALL the batteries in both the smartphone and Dora with fresh, alkaline batteries. BATTERY INSTALLATION: (FOR SMARTPHONE) Unscrew and lift away cover from back of product.
