Like the series IG224 and IG224/2, loops are controlled in the noise immune multiplex mode. Besides the usual switching outputs, this detector has a RS485 data-bus interface. For inductivities of 400 µH and more a resistance of 40 Ohm is permitted (corresponds to approx. 550 m feed cable with ∅ = 0.8 mm). The front-side service interface can be used to adjust via laptop (service software IGBT) multiple channel parameters like: sensitivity, measuring time, hold time, operational frequency, switch on/off delay, directional logic and oversampling. The software is also designed for the diagnosis of loops and detectors, and for activating special functions. Classification function A bus detection can be implemented by using a special loop (10 m x 2.5 m, 2 windings). The value of attenuation is the decisive criterion. For smaller loops (loop length: 1,0 m– 2,5 m) a simple differentiation between car / lorry can be realised.
