Use resources from this seminar as guides for entry into the student teaching assignment and as a log of classroom experiences. 2. Identify the key components of a lesson plan. 3. Explain effective behavior management strategies that work in the classroom. 4. Recognize and reflect upon challenges that arise in the classroom and articulate how the situation was handled and, if applicable, how it could have been handled more effectively. 5. Share ideas for successful teaching (gathered in student teaching placements) with peers. 6. Define the term “reflective practitioner” and demonstrate use of the process of reflection. 7. Address current legal regulations in schools. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: PARTICIPATION: Students are expected to participate in each seminar. Opportunities for both large and small group discussions will be provided. TE 903 ATTENDANCE: You are expected to attend every session. If you anticipate being absent or late to seminar, please notify the instructor. If you need to miss class for illness, personal, or professional reasons, you will be required to complete a written make-up assignment. EVALUATION: TE 903 is a CREDIT/NO CREDIT course.
