The Quality Professional of the Year award is presented annually to recognize individuals in the automotive industry who have made significant contributions in the following areas: Leadership or managerial skills in implementing continuous improvement in quality; Services provided to the community toward furthering the understanding of quality systems and techniques; Support and encouragement of new and innovative ideas leading to the never-ending pursuit of excellence; Demonstration of a high regard for team benefits and results. "It is truly an honor to be recognized among the top quality professionals of the automotive industry,” said ASQ Automotive Division Chairman Ha Dao. "Quality leadership must be the overriding goal. Rall was selected for this award for his outstanding leadership, significant contributions to quality improvement and for his services to the profession." Michael Rall will be recognized during the annual award banquet. The night will begin with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a self-guided tour of the museum. The Automotive Hall of Fame is a museum celebrating the men and women whose automotive innovation changed the world and revolutionized the transportation industry. It contains vehicles, artifacts and historical archives that dramatically present the significant accomplishments and the role of the automobile industry in America’s growth. The keynote address will be given by Bennie Fowler, Group Vice President, Global Quality and New Model Launch, Ford Motor Company, at 7 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony. He has more than 29 years' experience in Quality/Operational Excellence, Engineering, and Operations Leadership. He currently works at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company as a Corporate Master Black Belt. Mike's certifications include Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Black Belt, ASQ Quality Manager and Process Improvement Specialist. Mike was an ASQ Global Conference speaker on Operational Excellence Leadership in 2010 and has worked as a consultant and teacher with universities since 1996.
