Identify and develop strategies to overcome the typical barriers to academic success faced by most first year students. Course Requirements: You will be required to complete the following requirements: Attend every class In class participation Grading Policy/Attendance: This course is a CR/NC (credit/no credit) class, which means that your attendance is mandatory and part of your grade. If you have a legitimate reason for missing class (illness, team travel, etc.) you are responsible for contacting me before class. If your absence is not approved by me beforehand, you will be charged with an unexcused absence. If you are absent more than 2 class periods, you will receive NC (no credit). Reading and Assignments: Must be completed and turned in at the beginning of each class period in which they are due. Class discussion and participation is expected.
