Provide guidance and focus the efforts of other IFC officers.
Preside over all meetings of the general assembly and executive board.
Cast the final vote in the event of a tie.
Visit with member chapters regularly to determine what chapter needs are not being met
as well as which IFC efforts are particularly strong.
E. Build rapport and establish positive working relationships between the IFC and chapter
leaders.
F. Meet with the Judicial Board to monitor and review the progress of any chapter under
disciplinary sanction(s).
G. Meet monthly with Panhellenic and NPHC officers to build rapport and discuss mutual
concerns and programs.
H. Meet twice each year with fraternity alumni leaders, chapter advisors, and house
corporation representatives to proactively discuss important issues in the Fraternity and
Sorority community.
I. Meet weekly with the Fraternity and Sorority Advisor or other representatives of the
administration or faculty to discuss upcoming activities and concerns of the Fraternity
and Sorority Community.
J. Serve as the official spokesperson for the Interfraternity Council.
Vice President Judicial Affairs and Risk Management
A. Be trained in the judicial process and hearing mechanics.
B. Provide chapter presidents with documented judicial procedures.
C. Guarantee full due process for all parties during the hearing procedure, ensure the
confidentiality of the proceedings, and maintain a tape recorded or written record of all
testimony.
D. Call witnesses and adjudicates cases involving actions of fraternity chapters and/or their
members.
E. Delineate between situations of organizational, individual and dual responsibility.
F. Levy thorough, consistent and educational sanctions that will both deter and redirect
further violations.
G. Provide educational opportunities to member chapters to prevent conduct violations and
reduce the number of repeat offenders and similar offenses by other chapters.
H. Meet with the IFC President to monitor and review the progress of any chapter under
disciplinary sanction(s).
I. Additional duties, guidelines, policies, and processes of the Judicial Board shall be
contained in the IFC Judicial Board Manual. This manual shall be used and interpreted as
an Article to the IFC Constitution.
J. Work to ensure IFC social and risk management policies are written and consistent with
the laws and regulations of the campus, community, and state, in addition to the policies
of the inter/national fraternities on campus.
K. Reside over the General Assembly in the absence of the President.
L. Undertake or assist in special projects or assignments delegated by the President.
M. Sponsor programs at least twice a year for chapter social and risk management chairs on
successful event planning and implementation without alcohol or with the responsible use
of alcohol as well as emergency situation procedures.
N. Review IFC social and risk management policies regularly seeking input from chapter
leaders for improvements as necessary.
O. Ensure IFC alcohol policy creates a uniform set of expectations for the use of alcohol by
all chapters, prohibits the use of fraternity funds to purchase alcohol, and contains
specific provisions for the implementation of dry recruitment activities.
P. Assist the Treasurer in collecting dues and other money owed to the IFC.
Q. Maintain a code of conduct in General Assembly meetings by addressing a perpetual
problem or escorting a person in contempt or acting in an unruly manner out of a
meeting.
Vice President of Recruitment:
A. Organize Fraternity Recruiting events.
B. Facilitate IFC recruitment meetings.
C. Develop a process that allows chapters to ask individuals to join their organizations at
any time during the academic year, and ensures that prospective members are not
required to visit a specific number of chapters to be eligible for membership.
D. Promote interfraternalism and Greek membership by participating in new student
orientation programs each Summer, Fall, and Spring.
E. Develop programs in which fraternity representatives can meet prospective new members
in an informal environment such as moving students into residence halls, football games,
new student and orientation activities.
F. Preside over fraternity expansion and ensure expansion is discussed.
G. Maintain a new member interest list.
H. Undertake or assist in special projects or assignments delegated by the President.
Vice President of PR and Programming
A. Undertake or assist in special projects or assignments delegated by the President.
B. Serve as liaison to student government, the campus programming board, the newspaper
staff, city council, chamber of commerce, or any other organization interested in
interacting with the Greek system.
C. Provide the media with news leads or background information on Greek community and
chapter events.
D. Meet with campus and community law enforcement officials at least twice a year.
E. Promote continued opportunities for individual fraternity member participation in campus
organizations and events such as residence life staff, orientation assistants, campus tour
guides, student government representatives, etc.
F. Supervise the coordination of Greek Week events
G. Publish an annual report of accomplishments and concerns and distribute copies to all
chapters, chapter advisors, house corporation officers, campus officials, faculty
representatives, media contacts, community leaders, general fraternity headquarters, and
the NIC office.
H. Work with student writers and editors and Panhellenic Council and NPHC to create and
distribute a campus Greek newsletter twice a semester to establish relationships with
local organizations.
I. Organize and implement philanthropic and community service projects for the Fraternity
and Sorority Community.
J. Sponsor an annual service award and recognize the outstanding philanthropic and service
efforts of all chapters.
K. Assist the IFC Secretary/Treasurer with the development of a master calendar of
philanthropic and service projects.
Vice President of Administration
A. Distribute and maintain accurate minutes for all IFC meetings and Judicial Board
hearings.
B. Maintain an accurate record of attendance by member fraternities at IFC Congress
meetings.
C. Ensure parliamentary procedure is followed in all formal IFC meetings. Provide advice
and support to chapter secretaries.
D. Undertake or assist in special projects or assignments delegated by the President.
E. Supervise the annual budget process.
F. Collect IFC member dues, fees, fines, or other assessments as needed.
G. Maintain accurate records throughout the year through invoicing and receipts.
H. Receive all check requests and make disbursements with a cosigner.
I. Prepare financial statements monthly and at the end of each term for distribution to all
member chapters and IFC advisor.
J. Make bank deposits when necessary.
K. Provide advice and support to chapter treasurers.
L. Make requests for funding from campus student activities fees for speakers, leadership
activities, and other all-Greek or all-campus activities.
M. Work with Panhellenic, and NPHC to create a Greek programs account and budget for
jointly planned programs and events.
N. Pay annual dues to maintain membership in SEIFC and NIC Interchange campus
program.
O. Undertake or assist in special projects or assignments delegated by the President.
