C=Collect data D=Discuss data among faculty I=implement program changes based on data SLO # C, D, or I Content or results 1-10 C Instructors in 6 sections of NURS 148 (Practicum VI), the capstone clinical course, evaluated a total of 65 students per the final clinical evaluation tool. 100% of these students earned a "Satisfactory" rating and met these criteria. 1-10 D Because all students met the SLOs, no program changes were undertaken as a direct result of this assessment. As part of a major curriculum review/revision, nursing faculty approved the revised student learning objectives based on educational and practice standards from the: American Association of Colleges of Nursing, American Nurses Association, California Board of Registered Nursing, Institute of Medicine guidelines, and National Council of State Boards of Nursing standards. Once approved by the California State Board of Registered Nursing, these revised SLOs will be implemented. Conduct comprehensive and focused biopsychosocial and environmental assessments of health and illness parameters in clients, using culturally appropriate approaches. 2. Plan, implement, and evaluate client-centered care that demonstrates the safe application of the pathophysiological, medical, and nursing management of common acute and chronic illnesses, and health promotion. 3. Use the nursing process to provide appropriate evidence-based nursing care to manage the client’s experience and promote health. 4. Deliver client-centered education that integrates the application of developmental stages across the lifespan, cultural background, educational level, and health literacy considerations. 5. Act as a client advocate to develop strategies for addressing adherence/compliance issues in client-centered care. 6. Demonstrate a beginning safe performance level of pharmacologic agents and complementary modalities, including identification and management of side effects, used in common acute and chronic illnesses and health promotion. 7. Employ health literacy and use relevant technology to provide nursing care that contributes to safe and high quality client outcomes. 8. Participate in disaster planning and response with an awareness of environmental factors and the risks they pose to self and clients. 10. Demonstrate beginning levels of clinical judgment, systems thinking, and accountability for client outcomes when delegating to and supervising other members of the healthcare team. 11. Assume responsibility for and evaluates own professional nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. 12. Practice according to: a) ethical standards and decision-making according to the ANA Code for Nurses; b) legal mandates, statutes, and regulations set forth by the California Board of Registered Nursing. 13. Coordinate and manage healthcare for a group of individuals across the lifespan in order to maximize health, independence, and quality of life. 14.
