PROTECT YOUR COMMUNITY FROM DEVELOPERS.
THE PROBLEM:
THE TUFT’S/CARRIGAN PROJECT: A PLAN TO
DEVELOP A 30 ACRE SITE BEHIND LANGSFORD POND.
ACCESS WILL BE A NEW ROAD FROM TUFTS LANE TO
HUTCHINS COURT. AN ESTIMATED $15 MILLION FOR
THE DEVELOPER - NOTHING FOR THE COMMUNITY.
REJECT THE TUFT’S PROJECT BECAUSE:
1. SEWERAGE: major addition to STEP system
1. WATER PRESSURE: below safety standards right now
2. TRAFFIC: – Connecting roads are too narrow. Bennett
St./Dennison St. –Hutchins Ct./Revere St. and Washington
Street have more than enough to deal with right now
3. SAFETY– Think WINTER - children have to wait in the
street for the school bus, no sidewalks, limited
fire/ambulance access.
4. ENVIRONMENT: Major Destruction of Wetlands and
Natural Habitat. Storm water and Pollution runoff - Road
salt in winter – Grass chemicals in summer.
5. IMPACT ON NEIGHBORHOOD: ignores Community
Development Plan to preserve neighborhoods
6. WARD 4 HAS MAJOR LAND AREA SUBJECT TO
BUILD-OUT -this will open the floodgate for more senseless
development.
