Activities could include paid work, volunteer service, organizational involvement, or internships that highlight skills, knowledge, and/or values of the social work profession. A description of the quality of your academic achievements, providing information that might help us understand your past performance and your potential in the field of social work. This section might highlight particular skills or achievements in social work or related courses, and include writing and communication skills, or other relevant academic achievement. A brief statement of the financial need you anticipate during the coming academic year, whether or not you receive financial aid; Special considerations to address for some awards: If applying for the Sandee Scholarship, you should also describe your potential for contribution and leadership as a student from a minority group planning a social work career. If applying for the Mindy (Hawkins) Thielges Memorial Scholarship, you should also describe your interests in working with the elderly, especially in skilled nursing facilities, and how you are preparing to work with this population through specialized course work, volunteer activities, and practicum placements. If applying for the Dr. Jane Ann Roberts Memorial Stipend, you should also describe your interests in working with the elderly and how you are preparing to work with this population through specialized course work, volunteer activities.
