CALL FOR PROPOSALS 18th ANNUAL GEORGIA CONFERENCE ON COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY TEACHING FEBRUARY 11-12, 2011 KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY, KSU CENTER We invite you to submit proposals for workshops, symposia, and paper or poster presentations for the 18th annual Georgia Conference on College & University Teaching. Proposal topics might include: innovative pedagogy, particularly research based innovations that focus on student-centered learning; course and program assessment; teaching ethnic and cross-cultural diversity; teaching with technology; interdisciplinary teaching; and mentoring of students and faculty. Proposals are invited from all areas of post-secondary teaching that are focused on teaching undergraduate and graduate students. We are seeking interactive, lively presentations that exemplify rather than simply talk about creative teaching and advancing student learning. Preference will be given to proposals that emphasize practical, research-based approaches that can be adapted by participants from a variety of disciplines for immediate use in their college/university classes or academic programs. We do not encourage proposals that are solely focused on teaching and learning in a single discipline or research focused on K-12 teaching and learning. In both content and title, proposals should address how an innovative technique developed in the context of one discipline can be adapted to other disciplines. ATTENDANCE & PRESENTATION Anyone submitting a proposal must plan to register for and attend the conference to make the presentation if the proposal is accepted. Faculty presenters will be given a reduced conference registration rate of $80 and student presenters will be given a reduced registration rate of $30. All presentation rooms will have computers, projection capabilities, and Internet access. Submitting a proposal represents a commitment to make the presentation at the conference if it is accepted. Persons with accepted proposals must participate at the assigned scheduled time during the conference or make an arrangement for someone else to make the presentation. Individuals with constraints with respect to the scheduling of the day or time of their presentation must indicate those limitations when the proposal is submitted.
