Flight Pattern Criteria – G-IV
Operational
•Targets defined as maximum forecasted DLM
wind field variance at obs time from GFS
•All drops must be over open water and are generally
dropped at a resolution of 222 km
•Flight tracks are limited to 8.5 h when plane
recovers in continental US, 8 h at St. Croix and
Barbados, 7.5 h in Bermuda
•Missions commence at 1730 and 0530 UTC
•Generally do not have clearance to overfly
Cuba, Hispaniola, or Central America
Research
•45 research flight hours for HRD
•Patterns dependent on module
•Flight patterns will be available in Hurricane Field
