Description: This course will provide an overview of the behavioral and
managerial competencies that are required for success in the 21st century
accounting profession.

Justification: To be successful as an accounting/auditing professional takes more than
mere technical competence. Hence, it is extremely important that Master of Accounting students
are exposed to a series of courses in “leadership and professional skills” that highlight and
underscore developing strong behavioral and managerial competencies to become well-rounded.
After taking this course in the MAcc Program, we would expect that students will come away
with a deep appreciation of what it takes to be a leader in the real world of professional
accounting practice.
