What do you see as the major strength(s) of the Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision program? The individual and collective work that is done with the Field Study. The independent study helps you to understand the importance of research and data. The professors that I had during my program were very flexible with the graduate student's schedules as far as work and workloads are concerned. All the professors were very understanding and would work with the students to provide reasonable due dates, ect. 2. What do you see as the major weakness (es) of the Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision program? The Field Study can also cause you trouble. If you are not self-motivating you will never complete it. There could be some type of program/class that requires a student to report every two -weeks to show progress on their Field Study. I would truly like to see more classes offered as face to face. I know it's more convenient to offer online classes but I miss the discussion aspect of being in a face to face class with the professors and other students. 3. In what ways has earning this degree impacted you professionally? Earning this degree has opened up my career to new challenges. It has also given me the opportunity to understand the importance of research to improve student achievement. I have learned how to be more diplomatic about certain aspects of leadership and I have also learned to look at situations in a variety of ways instead of just teacher's way. I have become much more aware of the constant changes in the educational field and I enjoy researching articles about educational change. Additionally, this degree will allow me to search for administrative jobs. 4. Add any comments you would like to make about the Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision program? I think that it is a great program and it was a joy to complete it at APSU. I have learned a lot from my program of study in Administration and Supervision. The classes that I took helped me gain valuable experience in a variety of different aspects of leadership. I especially enjoyed taking the practicum classes which helped me gain first hand leadership experience. I feel I am well prepared to become an administrator. I've also met many people from other school districts who in turn may help me in the future should I decide to apply for a job in another district. I also think my professors will be willing to help me continue my education should I so desire to do so.
