A resolution to require instructors of Maymester and summer courses to be subject to
student
evaluation.
Whereas SGA serves as the “voice of the students,” and students have expressed concern
over this matter, and
Whereas instructors of Maymester and summer courses are presently not evaluated by
their students as are regular fall and spring term professors, and
Whereas these instructors should be held to the same standards as fall and spring term
instructors and provided with feedback on their effectiveness as instructors as well as the
quality of the course as a whole.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 65TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
AUSTIN PEAY STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION
THAT:
Section 1: The student Government Association will submit a formal recommendation to
the Provost encouraging the provision for Maymester and summer course evaluations.
Section 2: This resolution will be in effect beginning in the 2011 Maymester and summer
terms.
