Advanced Facilitation: Developing New Skills & Tools About the Workshop This is a two-day workshop for those who have had introductory or basic facilitation training, preferably Donna Ching’s “Learning to Lead Collaboratively” (LLC) or “Facilitative Skills for Collaborative Leaders” (FSCL) workshop. Participants will add to their repertoire of tools and explore new concepts to benefit their work. They will also exchange experiences and ideas with other practicing facilitators through hands-on exercises and opportunities to discuss lessons learned. About the Presenters Donna Ching, Ph.D., has been an extension specialist in the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii-Manoa since 1987. From 1987-2011, she has coordinated the Agricultural Leadership Program. Lily Bloom Domingo established her own private consulting practice, CommUnity Works, LLC in 2009 after nearly 25 years working in the nonprofit sector, most recently as the COO and director of Training & Consulting Services at the Hawaii Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations (HANO). Donna and Lily both enjoy working with a variety of nonprofit, for-profit, educational, governmental, and community organizations to provide training, consulting and technical assistance in the areas of group process, leadership, facilitation, strategic planning, and collaborative decision-making. Participants at this workshop will: Explore the facilitator’s responsibilities Discuss real-life facilitation challenges Share and learn advanced facilitation tools Reflect on personal style and philosophy of facilitation To register, you must have had some introductory or basic facilitation training.
