We’re Making Reading a
Lifelong Treasure!
2A is ready to start a new classroom incentive filled with
reading treasures! Throughout the next several weeks our
class will be working toward another individual reading
goal of 5 books. Each time a child completes a book, they
will earn a gold coin to place on their individual treasure
chest displayed in our room. Our class goal is for everyone
to read and earn 5 golden treasures during this time.
We’re really excited about this new reading incentive.
Please encourage your child to read at least 15 minutes
each day to help them reach their goal. Our procedure will
remain the same as our previous soccer ball program.
Each child will be given credit for books that they have
read at a level that is appropriate for them at this time.
Generally speaking, approximately 50 pages will be equal
to one book.
When a book has been completed, simply sign the form and
have your child bring the slip to school to share with me.
This should remain their responsibility! As always, thank
you for encouraging the love of reading with your child.
