Plan Survey (Closes May 13th)

www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/facilities
As the third fastest growing school
district in the United States, Forsyth
County Schools has added 8,000 new
students in five years. However, the
district's operational budget has not
increased in those five years and there
are no funds available for capital improvements, such as renovations
and modifications, additions and new school construction.
Since January Forsyth County Schools has been working with various
district departments, all schools and other stakeholders to create the
2014-2019 Facilities Plan to address instructional, facilities, and
financing needs for the next five years. This survey is very important
to our plan. Thank you in advance for providing input!

Support "I Have A Choice"
The "I Have a Choice" initiative, funded by a grant from the Georgia
Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities
(DBHDD), is designed to inform and educate youth and parents on
the realities of underage drinking to encourage positive life choices.
Research shows that 23 percent of Georgia youth have consumed
alcohol before the age of 13, while nearly the same percentage of
high school students admitted to binge drinking.
Four slogans are currently displayed on local billboards. The slogans
are:




I Have
I Have
future
I Have
I Have
A Choice... to not drink alcohol after prom
A Choice... to make responsible decisions for my
A Choice... to not social host*
A Choice... to not provide alcohol to minors
Statistics show that 82% of Georgia high school students who
consumed alcohol did so at their own house or at another home.
Adults can be held liable for youth-related alcohol use and suffer
legal consequences.
Take time to talk to your children about not using alcohol so they can
make positive choices and live healthier lives. For information and
