These assessments typically assess mastery of individual standards. Summative: An assessment that is used at the end of a unit of study. These assessments generally assess student mastery of several standards. What does Common Core mean? Integration of language skills across the curriculum. Lessons are planned to include mathematics, social studies, and science topics, along with reading and language arts. The goal is to provide common, challenging, and in-depth instruction on a nationwide level. How do we address these components of Common Core in the classroom? What about safe surfing? BYOT is used as a tool not a learning outcome.
