Personal Statement: My passion and experience is extensive in the areas of addictions, codependency, family-of-origin issues, trauma, and adolescent challenges. I frequently address
mind, body, family systems, vocation, academics, hobbies and spirituality simultaneously. When
requested by a client, a Christian perspective can be integrated into the therapy process. I am
client-centered and develop a series of interventions that are challenging without being
shaming. I have 12 years of experience sharing hope, humor (I often laugh with my client's in
session) and professionalism. I am happy to provide references from other area providers,
physicians and schools.
Theoretical Orientation: I am primarily cognitive-behavioral in my approach. I also utilize the
highly researched Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical
Behavioral Therapy (DBT) protocols in my practice. Both are shown to be very effective. EMDR
has also shown to greatly expedite the time one spends in treatment.
Groups: I facilitate an adolescent process group with DBT and substance abuse education and
an adult DBT group.
"Peak Performance" therapy: Sessions are available for anyone who feels as if they are not
meeting their life potential in their careers, romances, friendships, athletic abilities or any area
where they want to excel and are just feeling stuck. Based on the EMDR model and very similar
to how one would treat traumatic incidents, this protocol assist clients in identifying and
reframing life experiences that feed self-sabotaging belief systems.
Cost: $125.00 per 50 minute individual session
$50.00 per 50 minute group session
We will file electronically out-of-network for clients at the time of service. All major credit cards
accepted.

The Cottonwood treatment team is dedicated to the compassionate and sophisticated treatment of addiction to drugs and alcohol,
mood disorders, including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. We are also pioneers in the treatment of trauma, impulsecontrol difficulties like pathological gambling, work and sex addiction, eating disorders and relational dysfunction and
codependency.
Sweetwater Program utilizes a unique and engaging approach to the treatment of co occurring disorders. This approach allows
for the use of various treatment modalities that offer opportunities for introspection, insight, skill development, and social
integration. Our program provides treatment for co-occurring disorders such as chemical abuse/Dependency, Depression,
Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Trauma, ADD/ADHD, Eating Disorders/Body Image Concerns, Grief and Loss, Self-Harm Behaviors,
Family Conflict.
Adult Program includes a strong, solid base of medical management, twelve-step
recovery concepts, family program, group therapy, nutritional counseling, and experiential
therapies. Individualized treatment planning allows for effective treatment of co-occurring disorders. Some of the issues we
address are Chemical Dependency, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Mood Disorders/Bipolar Disorder, Family of Origin Issues,
Compulsive Gambling, Spending Addiction, Grief and Loss, Eating Disorders/Body Image Concerns, Relationship Conflict, Sexual
Compulsivity, Anger and Rage, OCD, ADD/ADHD, and Video Game Addiction.
Young Adult Programs offer a treatment focus specifically designed for young adults (ages 18-24) suffering from substance
addictions and other co-occurring behavioral health problems like depression, eating disorders, family of origin conflict and
trauma. This 45-day inpatient program is designed to help young men and women overcome common age-related behavioral
and attitudinal barriers that can hinder their ability to live independently from their parents, maintain educational gains or
meaningful employment and establish healthy relationships. In an environment of structure, safety and support, our highly
skilled counselors, several with personal experience in recovery from chemical dependency and other destructive behaviors,
present the recovery process as a method young adults can use to achieve their own goals. Using a client-centered approach,
framed by consistency, genuine empathy and authentic communication, Cottonwood clinicians help young patients to resolve
ambivalence and truly invest in the treatment process.
