 birthrate- the annual number of births per 1,000 people

culture- a total way of life that includes beliefs, values, and practices.

culture trait- an activity or behavior in which people often take part

culture region- an area of the world that shares cultural traits

ethnic group- shares a common culture and background or ancestry

culture diversity- when an area contains a variety of cultures

cultural diffusion- the spread of cultural traits from place to place

migration- the process of moving from one place to live in another

population- the total number of people in a given area

population density- the measure of the number of people living in an area

command economy- a system in which the central government makes all economic
decisions

communism- a type of government that rules all aspects of lives

democracy- a type of government where people elect leaders and rule by majority

developed countries- countries with strong economics and a high quality of life
