Curriculum Map- 7th grade Social Studies/Southern & Eastern Asia Unit Focus: In this unit, students will examine the growth and development of Southern and Eastern Asia focusing on China’s isolation and the major developments in Southern and Eastern Asia during the 20th century. Students will identify important physical and human characteristics, while explaining the impact of these characteristics on various countries in Southern and Eastern Asia. In addition, students will describe the diverse cultural characteristics of the people in this region, as well as the impact of government policies and individual behaviors on Southern and Eastern Asia’s environment.
