Actions, Strategies and
Interventions
(Includes Prof. Learning Plan)
Language Arts
6th Grade – The 6th grade ELA team plans
to utilize ITSlearning to develop more
engaging and personalized assessments
this year. They also plan to better their
use of effective and timely data analysis.
7th Grade –7th ELA will continue to
incorporate a variety of assessment
strategies throughout the year with a
focus on the addition of student selfassessment and goal-setting, performance
standards #5.2 and #5.4. Our strategies
will focus on self-assessment through the
use of rubrics, checklists, study guides, and
writing and project guidelines, along with
presenting student exemplars.
th
th
8 Grade – The 8 grade ELA team will
implement standard-specific sections on
summative assessments.
Math
Use more frequent and varied assessment
strategies as related to TKES Standards:
Standard 2: Instructional Planning
Standard 4: Differentiated
Impact on Student and Adult
Behavior
(“If…then...” Statements)
If teachers focus on their assessment
strategies, particularly in regards to
tailoring them to better meet
students’ developmental and
personal needs, the assessments will
serve as improved indicators of gaps
in learning and student growth.
If students are more involved in the
assessment process, they can take
more ownership of their learning
and grow to work with their teacher
to address individual needs.
If students fail to succeed on a
particular section, then the teacher
can focus on that standard for
Relearn/Recovery.
If students are given more frequent
assessments then the students have
more opportunities to show mastery
of the skills.

Responsible?
ELA groups will
meet on Thursdays
during first
planning. Mrs.
Thrower will attend
throughout the year
to check on our
progress. She will
also touch base
with us during our
mid-year TKES
conference for a
complete status
update.
Provide specific feedback
through TKES observations
Professional development
on different assessment
strategies
RMS ELA plans to utilize
resources at the county,
local administrative,
support staff, collaborative
team levels as well as the
guidance & assistance
from our Quality Work
Facilitator. We would find
it abundantly useful if we
were granted time to
collaborate and
score/assess student work
as a grade level subject
area team. We would like
to use collaborative
grading time for our Unit 1
ACE the week of October
12. We received
subscription to Voces, an
online resource for
grammar and nonfiction.
We will discuss student
progress each week in
our math meetings
through the data teams
process to determine if

we are breaking our
content up
appropriately.
Use ITSLearning quizzes as tickets out the door.
We plan on having 2-3
graded formative
assessments per unit.
We will include this
information in our
weekly meeting
minutes.
Utilize websites such as Khan Academy and
Learn Zillion to “flip” the classroom, allowing
students to preview lessons before class.

Standard 5: Assessment Strategies
If the teachers incorporate assessment
strategies on a daily basis, then the
students will be given a variety of
opportunities to be assessed against
their content mastery. This will
enhance a student’s knowledge of the
standards as a whole. These actions
will help the teacher to better
understand student mastery and
therefore, direct/guide/focus
instruction to better meet the needs
of the learners.
If students are assessed using a variety
of methods, teachers will be able to
differentiate instruction and provide
constructive feedback to ensure
student progress toward the mastery
of Social Studies standards.
Every week the science
department will meet to
review assessment data.
Planning and instruction
will be adjusted based
upon student needs.
Monthly data teams
process will be utilized.
Teachers will generate
daily notes to assist in
the development of new
differentiated lessons.
Through weekly subject
area meetings the Social
Studies Teachers will
analyze data on
formative and
summative assessments.
The data teams process
will be utilized for
quarterly, midterm, and
finals.

Teachers will provide
students with timely and
