Teachers met first as a faculty for about 30 minutes to get an overview of the PGMS School Improvement Plan and then met as subject area vertical teams and special area teams to begin work on their individual parts of the PGMS School Improvement Plan. © 2013 FCS Public Information & Communications Dept. For the last 45 minutes of the afternoon, subject areas met in vertical teams to discuss the latest information on the Milestones Assessments. 1) District Collaboration Day in the Morning on Effective Feedback by Subject Areas and Programs (3 hrs.) 2) Collaborative Planning Team Meetings in the afternoon with a “sharing session” beginning at 4:00. (4 hrs.) 1) District Collaboration Day in the Morning on Questioning Strategies by Subject Areas and Programs (3 hrs.) 2) Collaborative Planning Team Meetings in the afternoon (4 hrs.) Total Hours: Approximately 43.5 Hours In addition, teachers attend Professional Learning Wednesdays at least 1x a month during their planning time. Session topics range from technology to assessment training to learning about instructional strategies to the new teacher evaluation system (TKES). Additionally, Faculty Meetings are held once a month, with a focus on highlighting excellent instructional practices that are happening at PGMS. Teachers present on successful instructional strategies they are using in their classrooms.
