Seedling – A seedling is a young plant. The small seedling grows roots, a
stem, and leaves.
Life Cycle – The way a living thing grows and changes is called its life cycle.
Living Things – Living Things need food and water, grow and change, and
can be parents. Plants and animals are living things that can grow, change,
and be parents.

• Different living animals, like a sea turtle, horse and dog,
can grow to be parents.
• Baby animals can look like their parents except for some
differences, such as colors and spots.
• A sea turtles life cycle begins with the egg being laid.
• A seedling looks like a small plant with a stem, roots
and leaves.
• As a baby develops into an adult, they continue to grow
and get taller.
• The life cycle of a dragonfly begins with eggs in the
water.

Sea Turtle
1. The sea Turtle starts life as an egg.

2. A nymph hatches from the dragonfly egg
3. The nymph becomes an adult dragon fly with wings and may lay eggs.
Horse
1. A young horse is called a foal.
2. The foal grows until it becomes an adult horse.
3. The adult horse is old enough to have foals of its own.
