NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY SO HOMEWORK PACKET IS DUE THURSDAY! Ms. Back, 3 rd Grade September 21 , 201 5 JOHNSON SCHOOL Dear Parents and Students, RESPECT Happy Monday! I hope you had a fun and relaxing weekend. This Friday is institute day and a nonattendance day for students. Therefore, because there is no school, the homework packet is due on Thursday. Last week, we completed our study of rounding and took an assessment on rounding to the nearest ten and hundred. PLEASE SEE THE GRADED ASSESSMENT IN YOUR CHILD’S HOMEWORK FOLDER. Students received an “I” for demonstrating the standard independently, “S” for demonstrating the standard with support, and “N” for an understanding of the standard that is not yet evident. If your child did not receive an Independent, he/she will have the opportunity to reassess in November at the end of the trimester. Please note that since we must move on to other topics in math, y students will need to continue to practice rounding at home to improve grades. See the rounding packet in the keep at home section of your child’s homework folders. Please use this for extra rounding practice. Also, some weekly homework will continue to include rounding. Please continue to practice rounding with your child if they are not yet considered independent. Any rounding practice should be included on the math log. COMPLETED HOMEWORK PACKET IS DUE ON THURSDAY! Students who do not turn in completed homework on Thursday will complete the work at Homework Club on Thursday during recess. If a student is absent, they may turn in the work on the following Monday and will not have to attend Homework Club. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great week!
