Week of Oct. 19Theme of the Week
Our theme of the week will be Fall.
We will be reading fun Fall books,
writing about Fall, and talking about
what makes this season special!
Homework
Please help your child write some words that remind
them of Fall. We are working really hard on “tapping out
the sounds” (or simply listening for the sounds) and
writing the sounds they hear. Let them show you what
they can do.
This past week we learned…
-How to write and make the sounds for “w”, “v”
and “y”
-To read the sight words- on, see, I, a
-Continue to practice seeing #6-10 as a group
of 5 and more. We introduced the 2D shapehexagon.
-How to explain what the characters and setting
are in a story.
Teacher’s Note
Thank you to all the chaperones that joined us on the field
trip. We had a great time!
Also, it was so nice to talk with many of you on Thursday
for the first night of parent-teacher conferences. I look
forward to seeing the rest of you guys on Tuesday.

Semana de Oct. 19-23
Tema de la Semana
Esta semana vamos a hablar mucho sobre el
otoño. Vamos a leer libros divertidos que se
tratan del otoño, escribir del otoño y hablar de la
características que hacen esta temporada tan
especial.
Tarea
Por favor, ayude a su hijo/a escribir una lista de
palabras que se traten del otoño. Cuando escriba,
pedirle a su hijo/a escuchar para sonidos que ya sabe
y escribir las letras solito.
En esta semana aprendimos…
-Cómo escribir y decir los sonidos de “w”, “v” y “y.”
-Leer estas palabras de alta frecuencia: “on,”
“see,” “a,” y “I.”
-Continuar a ver números 6-10 como un grupo de
5 y más.
-Figuras de dos dimensiones- hexagon.
-Cómo explicar cuales son los personajes y el
escenario de un cuento.
Nota de la Maestra
¡Gracias a todos los acompañantes que nos acompañaron en el
viaje de campo. ¡Nos lo pasamos muy bien!
Además, era muy agradable para hablar con muchos de ustedes
el jueves de la primera noche de las conferencias de padres y
maestros . Estoy deseando ver el resto de ustedes el martes .
