Seeking Tree Maintenance Intern The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy is seeking an energetic person to assist with our Tree Reforestation Program. Work performed in the Loch Raven Reservoir area and in the surrounding Gunpowder watershed. 10 hours per week; unpaid; excellent way to build your resume! Hours are flexible and can include weekends. Commitment to a spring, summer and fall schedule is preferred but a June, July and August commitment is allowable. Skills learned: time management small group supervision how to recognize different species of trees and invasive plants utilize a variety of restoration equipment. Must be age 18+; must provide own transportation; and be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Seeking hard worker with ability to apply instruction consistently; willing to work outside in an open field environment with high weeds; willing to work in heat and cold temperatures; attention to detail; ability to work without direct supervision; and able to take initiative. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year college level course work working towards a degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, botany, or natural history.
