Towson University centers to create one all-encompassing organization
DEPARTMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: The Department of the Institute for Well-Being supports

INTERNSHIP INFORMATION (How might your organization use and improve a health education
student’s skills and knowledge?):
The Institute for Well-Being is a newly created institute. The student that is placed with our department
will be able to help assess the needs of the public we serve. In addition, the student may be able to
identify areas of the market that have been overlooked.
With the clients that visit our clinics regularly, the student is able to provide them with information that
will educate them on the various issues that we address at the clinic. The student will experience working
with clients in a supervised setting as well as representing our programs at various events.
INTERN INFORMATION (What are the skills and qualities you seek in an intern?):
We need a person who is comfortable interacting with people, including those with special needs. We
need someone who is qualified in assisting the Wellness Center staff in serving their clients, including
taking blood pressure. The intern should be able to multi-task and keep multiple projects organized at
once.
OTHER INFORMATION (Parking problems? Need for night/weekend availability? Things a student
should know before an interview?): Occasional evening and Saturdays are required. Working with
multiple Program Directors to assist in their programs as needed. Available to work at information fairs
representing the Institute for Well-Being.
