The IL State Constitution was created in 1970
The IL State Constitution has much in common with the US Constitution
There are some major differences between the two documents.
The Governor runs the executive branch for IL
The IL supreme court has 7 justices and 4 must agree to make a decision
IL has a General Assembly for 59 senators and 118 representatives
Like the constitution, IL has the same three branches of government. The
Legislative, the Executive, and the judicial branches are all apart of IL’s system.

Government.

The stripes on the Flag stand for the original 13 colonies
The stars on the flag stand for the states
The US Flag maybe displayed at night but it must be well lit
The Flag should not be displayed in bad weather
The US flag, when displayed on American soil or property, should fly
higher than any other flag
6. Removing hats, facing the flag, putting your right hand over your heart,
can show respect for the flag.
7. Flags should be shown at half- mast during national times of emergency or
sorrow
8. The flag should be positioned to the right of the speaker
