The 2015 New Jersey Collegiate Entrepreneur of the Year Competition is designed to recognize exceptional entrepreneurial skill and creativity among undergraduate students enrolled in NJ colleges and universities. WHO is eligible? There are three conditions of eligibility: student status, ownership, and managerial role. Student status - the individual must be either a current/former graduate student with nine credits in the past 12 months or a current/former undergraduate student with twelve credits in the past 12 months, or be a current fulltime graduate/undergraduate student. Ownership interest – the individual needs to have at least a 25% ownership in the business. Managerial Role – the individual needs to have a managerial role in the business. HOW do students apply? Complete the application and include up to an additional 3 pages (if necessary) for brochures, promotional materials, extra information, etc. (digital versions of this information must be pasted in an additional MS Word document or sent in PDF format). The nominator should fill in the appropriate section. An independent set of judges review applications. Evaluation criteria include entrepreneurial spirit, obstacles overcome, success of business (financial, market share, etc.), concern for quality and customer service, estimated potential for future success, and abiding by the submission rules for maximum length of entries.
