Mr. Simmons’ Classroom Procedures
Procedure for the Start of the Period or Day.
1). 3 Minute Preparation
A). Write down assignment, objective, and homework for today.
B). Sharpen pencils (no more than 3 at a time).
C). Put heading on paper.
D). Keep room quiet.
2). Bell Work
A). Complete bell work on a separate clean sheet of paper.
B). Work silently, on your own.
C). Use your book if you need help.
D). When finished be ready for the next part of class.
3). Students will recite one of the daily quotes.
4). Instruction
A). Have paper ready for notes and examples.
B). Focus on the lesson.
C). Listen carefully to and follow all directions.
D). Make an honest effort to understand.
E). Ask sensible questions at the appropriate time.
F). Raise your hand for any questions.

Procedure for Passing in Papers
1). Check to make sure your heading is in the correct format.
2). Put the paper on the left-hand side of your desk.
3). Put your paper on the person’s desk who is sitting on your left.
4). Continue until all papers have reached the last row.
5). Do not talk unless given permission to do so.
Procedure for Taking Notes
1). Place the complete date in the top left-hand corner of your paper.
2). Place your name at the top right-hand corner of your paper.
3). On the line under the date write the objective(s) for today.
4). Place the chapter number and section number on the line under the objectives.
5). Skip a line, and then start taking notes.
Procedure for Leaving the Classroom
1). Wait until the teacher gives permission to pack.
2). Pack all belongings.
3). Pick up all trash in and around your desk.
4). Once all trash has been removed wait until the teacher dismisses you.
5). Once the teacher has dismissed you leave the room quietly.
I do not accept work done in pen!!!!!!!!!!!!
Special Note: I am committed to helping you in any way that I can. I do not give grades. You will earn
everything in my class. You will be successful in this class if you stay focus. If you meet me half way I
promise you that I will bend over backwards to help you. My goal for this year is to have 100% of my
students pass the TAKS test. I will do everything in my power to achieve this goal but I need your help.
