If YES, Why? I got so much exposure to international medicine teaching a public health program on
HIV/AIDS in churches, mosques, and schools. Loads of opportunities to interview patients, prescribe medicine,
learn on rounds, learn new aspects of physical exam. You name it.
If NO, Why? This is a very Baptist organization. Volunteers will most likely need to be involved in some
way with a Baptist church. I spent a lot of time with local churches and seeking to minister to people’s spiritual
and physical needs. If this is not you, then this is not your trip.

This is such a positive experience. I would recommend it to any Christian medical student that is very self
motivated and willing to be outgoing, confident, and eager to learn. You will not be forced into anything, but
given opportunity to do so much.
