The Appalachian Plateaus- This area of central New York State contains a gently synclinal structure which contains the Finger Lake district. The stream flow that emptied into one of the Finger Lakes formed an arcuate delta near the plateau edge. The sediments tend to be sand, having been brought out of the plateau. (Humid)

Delta, Arcuate, small, young, extending into river being fed by a large stream dissecting hilly terrain; fan-shaped with a level surface.
One main channel bisects the delta at right angles to the shoreline and current flow.
Broad V- to U-shaped channel carrying water.
Downstream portion of delta is being deposited fastest.
Large oval depression in downstream segment.
Color (Photo Gray Tones) Light to medium gray; light gray fringe borders the delta.
Land Use Recreational (boat docks).
Vegetation Scattered trees.
