Job Summary
The Institute for Health & Aging (IHA) is an organized research unit a
UCSF. This position will serve as Project Director (PD) for a study entitle
“Applying mobile persuasive technologies to increase physical activ
in women.” The incumbent will oversee daily operations of the study
(such as the subjects’ recruitment and follow-up, data collection an
update of the mobile phone physical activity application), ensure
project progresses on schedule, and provide training for a staff resea
associate; will prepare/update the protocols, manual of operations,
UCSF Committee On Human Research (CHR) applications and
documents for review by the study sponsors; will perform other dutie
related to the scientific activities of the study, such as monitoring da
quality, analyzing data, attending a research team meeting, and
assisting the investigative team with publications and conference
presentations by completing literature reviews; and will perform othe
duties as assigned.
Required
Qualifications
BA/BS with a major in health science (e.g. nursing, behavioral chang
psychology, social work) or related field and three years of experien
in administrative analysis or operations research; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience; training in counseling
and/or behavioral intervention; individual counseling experience; an
assisting clinical trials; expertise in MS Office applications (Outlook,
Word, Excel, PowerPoint), EndNote, PubMed, and Adobe Acrobat;
excellent communication and negotiation skills; demonstrated
excellent attendance and reliability; highly skilled at working effectiv
with a wide variety of personalities; expertise in statistical data analy
software (e.g. SPSS and/or STATA); excellent writing skills.
Note: A preliminary job offer and assignment may be extended
pending successful background clearance: Fingerprinting and
background check required.
Preferred
Qualifications
Graduate degree in health science (e.g. nursing, behavioral chang
psychology, social work) or related science; worked with in field
focusing on behavioral change, physical activity, lifestyle modificati
research, and in clinical research in particularly clinical trial; experien
in managing web-based data; knowledgeable in impact of physica
activity, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle programs.
