Owens & Minor Account Specialist- Harlingen Texas Brief Posting Description Travels to multiple hospitals/accounts to provide optimum customer service to ensure needs are met, provide problem resolution, and identify MediChoice opportunity. Provides administrative support to Sales Representatives on large accounts. May independently perform distribution service support at small accounts. Ensures that hospitals needs are acknowledged and addressed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Visits assigned hospitals as needed to determine the customer's need. Identifies MediChoice opportunities within assigned accounts and increases penetration. Schedules meetings with department heads at hospitals to persuade conversion to Owens & Minor business. Schedules meetings with materials managers and buyers to ensure accuracy and timeliness in purchase orders. Checks inventory to determine hospital usage levels. Researches new products that hospitals are interested in purchasing. Prepares cost comparisons for hospitals to justify Owens & Minor distribution. Converts new customer’s product numbers to Owens & Minor's product numbers. Acts as liaison between hospital and manufacturers to ensure accuracy of materials and supplies. Acts as liaison between hospital and division department heads to ensure smooth conversion. EDUCATION & FORMALTRAINING: Broad knowledge of a discipline such as finance, sales & marketing, business administration, or distribution preferred. A 4 year college or university degree required. WORK EXPERIENCE: Over one year up to and including three years.
