DIRECTED INDIVIDUAL STUDY (DIS) / HONORS WORK
The director of a DIS or Honors Work must be a faculty member, not an Adjunct Instructor or Teaching Assistant.
This form is completed by the student and the faculty director of the DIS/Honors Work, then given to
the Academic Coordinator (535 Bellamy) so that the course can be entered into the schedule of
classes. The student will be given the course reference number for registration.
DIS’s and Honors Work receive letter grades
Regularly scheduled classes cannot be taught as DIS’s.
DIS’s are variable 1-3 credits; Honors Work, variable 1-6 credits.
