History 121-122 (or History 121H-122H), History 201-202, and History 299 are prerequisites to the major

European History and c) World History. History 299 should be completed before commencing upper
level studies. Majors must then complete at least six hours form each of the three areas of study.

Topics, Travel-Study, Internships, and Independent Study courses. All requirements for the B.A. or B.S.
degree must be met, including completion of a minor or second major.
PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENT
All history majors are required to maintain an electronic portfolio containing all major written assignments,
beginning with History 299: History and Historians, and continuing through upper level coursework,
culminating in History 499 Senior Seminar. The portfolio assignment will be evaluated in History 499 and
will factor into the final grade in the course.
THE HISTORY MINOR
A. Six hours from HIST 121 and 122 or HIST 201 and 202
B. Twelve hours of upper division history courses (no more than 6 hours may come from special topics
courses: 401, 402, 450, 467, 468, 470, 480, and 490)
