No Bullfrogs in Ithaca in February I can't pass a house within two blocks of Hamilton's that used to belong to A.H. Wright a well known herpetologist -without remembering Hamilton's tale about when the first (vinyl) recording of frog and toad calls came out. February or some such month. Hamilton and a couple of like minds took a wind-up victrola up to Wright's at 2:00 am, tucked in up against the house under his bedroom window, cranked the gramophone up as loud as they could and let go with bullfrogs. The window flew open and so much as bothering to look out, Wright bellowed: 'Hamilton yourself outta here and take that damn thing with you.' (No bull frogs in Ithaca in February....)
