Do You Know Who I Am? One afternoon Bill was poaching plants in McGowans woodlot and the dean of the School of Agriculture found him and began to scold him for stealing university property. "Do you know who I am!" the dean yelled. "Yes, your Dean Ladd", Hamilton continued "Do you know who I am!" The dean replied that he did not and Hamilton ran off into the woods. Hamilton was on his knees poaching or digging something in the CU property called the Ringwood Swamp when he saw a pair of muddy boots in front of him. Looking up, he saw Ladd, then Dean of the College of Agriculture at CU. Ladd demanded to know what he was doing. Bill blurted a nervously lame-response answer. Ladd pulled himself up to his full height, looked Bill sternly in the eye saying,"Son, do you know who I am!" Bill answered meekly, "Yes sir." Long pause. Then Bill asked, "Sir, do you know who I am? " Ladd said no. Whereupon Bill said "Thank God" and took off. Version of Nina Lambert
